“Women’s ministry is important, because it invites us to a venue to learn about the Christian faith and live it in ways that befit the feminine genius with which God uniquely endows each of us.” St. John Paul, “Letter to Women”, June 1995
OUR VISION
Our vision is that every Catholic woman in the Grand Rapids Diocese has a place within the church where she feels welcomed, loved and finds spiritual friendships that bring her closer to unity with God.
Launched in 1939, the Grand Rapids Diocesan Council of Catholic Women is the umbrella group in the diocese responsible for bringing together all of the various women’s ministries and representing their voice to the Bishop of Grand Rapids. It also works to support the success of the diocese’s ministry to women by being a resource in launching small faith groups and growing affiliate growing membership.
2024 Initiates
Promote our women’s event calendar for the Diocese where women can find events and programs that enrich their spiritual life and provide Catholic fellowship.
Continue our initiative to have a parish prayer teams for every parish and a woman’s small faith group in every parish.
“A vibrant women’s ministry benefits the entire faith community.” Pope Benedict XVI
